St. George Academy – Computer Science and Engineering Pathways
Student Led CS Clubs, Classes, and Projects
Our CS curriculum is centered around business-level software and high-level programming languages and includes yearly field trips to local software development companies. We are in the process of aligning with private sector certifications so that students may take the proctored tests to gain programming certification outside of school.
Our Game Design classes walk students through game design for any platform from mobile apps to VR and at the end of the pathway, students have a complete playable game.
We have a student-led competitive VEX Robotics team open to teens and students in the broader community.
We offer a summer code camp for all ages where students will gain an appreciation for the principles of programming no matter what level they are on. Students learn Java, Python, C++, and C#.
We also offer an after-school Computer Club where students can continue learning about programming languages as well as ethical hacking and even eSports.
Additionally, students can join one of our many teams for Code Camp events during the school year.
Jump Start Your College-Level Programming
Students who follow one of our CS Pathways will enhance their knowledge of Python, as well as Java, and C#. They will also explore computer algorithms and learn the software development cycles and practice development with the Agile Framework.
Cutting-edge Lab Equipment
Our two 24-station labs include interactive media like AR headsets, videography, 3D modelling software and 3D Printers, and drawing tablets.
